False End Tread Caps

A false end tread cap finishes the open side of a primarily carpeted staircase. It gives the clean look of a solid wood tread end without replacing the full tread. Caps feature a contemporary nosing (squared or rounded) and are made for a tight, seamless fit—ideal when upgrading a closed staircase or adding modern components such as Aalto iron balusters and square newels.

Three configurations are available:

• Left-hand — mitered return on the left for an open side
• Right-hand — mitered return on the right for an open side
• Non-return — for the middle of a run or against a wall

Installation is straightforward and creates a clean edge for the carpet runner plus a solid base for balusters. Choose the configuration that matches your layout below.
