Trim and Moulding

Staircase Trim & Moulding

Trim and moulding finish a staircase by covering gaps and seams that appear during installation. Common profiles include Cove Moulding (under the tread nosing where it meets the riser) and Shoe Moulding (along the joint between a skirt board and the floor or tread). The right moulding hides imperfections and adds clean architectural detail. All wood moulding arrives unfinished, ready for on-site finishing.

Material options:

  • Stain-grade Red Oak — for staining and sealing to match hardwood treads and handrails
  • Paint-grade — smooth surface for an opaque painted finish
  • Flexible Moulding — polymer material that bends to fit curved walls, balconies, or starting steps while keeping a standard profile

We stock these finishing pieces so you can complete the job with a professional look and ship them with the rest of your stair parts.
