    My advice to other DIYers: don’t skimp on good quality wood glue and make sure you have lots of strong clamps for a piece this long.

Typically, wood glue and mounting hardware are used to join the handrail and fitting, and this seam is sanded smooth. In cases where minor fitting adjustments are needed, the sanding process blends the pieces seamlessly, usually without adding significant time or complexity.
