Constructed from hollow wrought iron with a Satin Black finish, it has square ends measuring 1 inch on each side, stands 47 inches tall, and weighs 2.3 pounds. This newel post requires mounting kit part number 16.3.31 (sold separately).
Usage Tips: Install using the 16.3.31 mounting kit for stability. Clean with a soft, dry cloth to maintain the Satin Black finish; avoid abrasive cleaners to prevent damage.

From the pictures, I was expecting this to be a really heavy piece of iron. I was so surprised at how lightweight and easy to handle it was. Being hollow made cutting it to height and installing it a one-person job.

I absolutely love the hammered texture on this newel post. It’s not overdone, but it gives the metal so much more character than a plain smooth finish. It catches the light in a really beautiful way.
