    This was my first time staining red oak. I called and Sheryl gave me a great tip about using a pre-stain conditioner to prevent blotching. It worked perfectly!

    I bought this newel because it was solid red oak, and I wanted to match my floors. The grain on the wood is absolutely beautiful. I put on a light stain and it just popped.
