The House of Forgings 16.3.35 Round Hole Level Base Shoe with Set Screw is designed for 5/8″ round iron balusters and is used on flat surfaces. Made from cast iron, this base shoe has a 1-1/4″ base. It includes a set screw which is tightened using a 3mm Allen wrench (not included). These base shoes are purely decorative and do not secure the baluster in place. Their primary purpose is to conceal the gaps left after baluster installation, offering a quick and cost-effective way to achieve a finished look for your stairs.

We renovated our first floor and decided to move to wrought iron balusters. My husband is doing the work himself and says it is a high quality product and are very easy to work with. We used four different balusters as well as shoes and railing supports. Very happy with it all. And the customer service is top notch. Highly recommend
