RetroFit Stair Tread Kits are a complete overlay system for converting carpeted stairs to solid hardwood. After removing the carpet, the new components install directly over the existing structure—no major demolition required.

Each kit includes a solid wood tread with the nosing (front edge molding) already attached. The nosing covers the edge of the existing step so the finished result looks like a thick, new solid wood tread. Treads and risers arrive sanded and unfinished, so you can stain and finish them to match your flooring, handrail, or other woodwork.

Each kit covers one step: one unfinished solid wood tread (Red Oak or White Oak) plus one riser. We stock these complete kits for fast delivery on stair remodels.
