This House of Forgings 16.2.1-T Plain Square Bar Iron Baluster is constructed from hollow wrought iron and features a simple square design measuring exactly half an inch wide on all four sides. The baluster stands 44 inches tall and weighs 1.2 pounds, making it a lightweight and cost-effective option for staircases. It is compatible with all other hollow square balusters measuring half an inch wide, including the Twist hollow, Versatile hollow, and Aalto series. However, for proper installation, it requires the separate purchase and use of shoe parts 16.3.19, 16.3.2.
Key specs:
Material: Hollow wrought iron.
Shape: Square.
Width: 1/2 inch.
Height: 44 inches.
Weight: 1.2 lbs.
Compatibility: Pairs with all 1/2 inch square balusters (e.g., Twist hollow, Versatile hollow, Aalto series); requires shoes 16.3.19, 16.3.2 (sold separately).
Usage Tips: Ensure proper installation with compatible shoes 16.3.19 and 16.3.2 for stability. Clean with a soft, dry cloth to maintain the finish; avoid abrasive cleaners to prevent damage.
Paired with the long rectangle. Looked great in my stairs and this was the only site I could find this style. Both were in grey.

Great website with lots of pictures to help narrow down your choice. We placed a LARGE order on Monday and it was here by Friday!! The price was so cheap I was a little concerned if it would be good quality. My finished carpenter came to do the install. He had never seen hollow wrought iron spindles before. He was done with our jobs 3 hours earlier than expected. He said the quality of the product was “top of the line”, and the fact they were hollow made it much easier and faster for him to cut. And they were faster to install because they were so light weight. It looks SO beautiful, I can’t recommend this company enough. He is now going to recommend this company to his customers!!!!!

The quality and speed of delivery of our order was great. The adjustable knuckles are super easy to work with and took a lot of stress out of me having to make perfect cuts and measurements. Well worth my time as I probably saved several thousand dollars in just one weekend of work taking my time. Could have done it in one day if I tried. It was a little time consuming to have the installer chisel square holes for the bottom of the baluster to fit it exactly without filling in with epoxy or using a shoe, but it was definitely worth it for the final product. We paired them with white oak custom made handrail and it’s absolutely stunning 💕we bought the matching shoes and our only complaint is that when they’re tightened down the angle does match up. We had to put a shim in each and every ones. Love! I’d submit a photo if I could 😊

The balusters we ordered were exactly what we hoped they would be – modern and stunning. Made a huge difference in updating an old home. Had to be cut to length but wow! What a difference! They shipped quickly and the communication from the company was top notch!

In the middle of our stair renovation our contractor needed more balusters to meet code. I hopped on Cheap Stair Parts website on Monday & they were here by the end of the week! Same quality & packing was outstanding. Some parts were on backorder so I had to go local for a few things & they were not the same quality as Cheap Stair Parts.

I have placed 3 orders in the past month for my contractor to completely rework our staircase. Each item is individually bubble wrapped. Shipping is very fast. The outcome looks amazing & I didn’t break the bank in the process! I would totally recommend using Cheap Stair Parts, you won’t be disappointed.
Alison Epperson (Verified Customer) –
The product was as advertised. The company worked with us to make sure all of our order was shipped together. They kept us informed throughout the process. We were pleased with all aspects of working with this company on our stair project.

Great product!

The iron balustrades replaced the traditional wood ones. What a difference!
Not too difficult to install once you get started. Need a metal cutter. Have to allow extra for the balustrades to go into the rail and the bottom.
Looks like a whole new foyer.

Jess (Verified Customer) –
Ordered the Plain Square Bar Iron Baluster and they look fantastic installed. It was a little time consuming to have the installer chisel square holes for the bottom of the baluster to fit it exactly without filling in with epoxy or using a shoe, but it was definitely worth it for the final product. Order was shipped quickly after placing it. Would definitely recommend this product and this seller!

Laura James (Verified Customer) –
We bought these for the color; and color matched our newel posts to match. We paired them with white oak custom made handrail and it’s absolutely stunning 💕we bought the matching shoes and our only complaint is that when they’re tightened down the angle does match up. We had to put a shim in each and every ones. Love! I’d submit a photo if I could 😊

From the ordering through to the delivery, everything was perfect. The ordering is simple, updates on when and what you ordered are sent and delivery was fast. Of course there is the product itself. All the balusters we ordered were well wrapped and flawless. No chipping, color issues and perfectly true. I have nothing negative to say.

Sandt Risko (Verified Customer) –
We searched the Internet high and low for iron balusters that we liked at a price that didn’t scare us away. Cheap Stair Parts was a terrific find! Great website, easy ordering, and a very fast turn-around time. The balusters are good quality, very attractive, and we got exactly what we ordered (no shipping errors!). I think we paid half the price of other sites we visited for similar products (and same quantity). Thank you!
